hope

All hope is not lost is a popular expression. However, when we are grieving, many times we may feel all hope is lost. It is easy to feel like our loved one’s passing was unfair, unjust, unimaginable and unfathomable. But remember, these feelings will change over time, as no feelings last forever. The tragic loss of a loved one’s physical death is permanent, but the loss of hope is temporary. If you can slowly start to reach out for support, whether it’s a grief counselor or therapist or possibly find a community of liked minded individuals going through a similar situation, you can find hope with easing your pain. Community is important, it can hold hope for you until you can find it again. Reach out for support when you are ready, you do not need to brave it alone. Hope will come when you are ready to look at the loss through a different perspective. Loss is not something that happened to you, it happened in spite of you. Their passing is the event that caused you to lose hope, but how you decide to move forward is how you write your own story. In the meantime, I will hold hope for you, until you can find it again for yourself.
