breathe & reboot

How many times have you had to unplug an electronic device that wasn’t working to allow it time to refresh and reboot? This happens often enough. When something we are having a hard time with malfunctions, we know it’s time to give it a second to come back online. This can happen to us as well. So many times we have moments in our life, along our grief journey, when things feel like they are just not working for us at all. We can feel overwhelmed and out of sorts, as we try to navigate the rocky terrain of grief. Instead of pushing it aside and pushing it down inside to try to keep going for everyone else around us, maybe it’s alright to take a time out just for ourselves. This is when we need to realize that we are allowed to take a moment and just breathe and reboot. In these times when our grief is all consuming, the very best thing we can do is acknowledge the grief and honor it for what it is and allow it to be felt. Take time to practice self love and self care by breathing one second, one minute, one hour at a time. Mindfulness and meditation can be awesome tools at this time. Going inward and feeling all of our feelings that need to be felt can allow us to recenter, recharge and reboot. Stepping aside from whatever it is that is triggering pain is not a bad thing. Always remember when things are not working for you, take a moment to just breathe and reboot.
